Archaeological monitoring of topsoil stripping was carried out in advance of opening an extension to a quarry. This followed on from four earlier phases of archaeological monitoring of topsoil stripping for previous quarry extensions. No evidence of the military encampment of 1796/97 known as “Camp Cliff” was found and no features or finds of archaeological significance were identified on the site.
