A terrace of dilapidated buildings known as the street, on Scattery Island, was to be repaired. In advance of service trenching for electricity cables and drainage twelve small hand-dug test trenches were cut along the routes in late November 2020, to assess the archaeological impact. No material of archaeological interest was found in most of the area, but buried midden material towards the north suggests early occupation (probably medieval) at the end of the row, close to the church (Templenamarve, CL067-024010).
A proposed electricity duct from the north end of the street to the present generator (north of Temeplenamarve) risked disturbing burials and building remains, and was shelved in favour of an alternative power supply to be installed in the street.
