Archaeological monitoring carried out by Rubicon Heritage Services Ltd for Coolsivna Construction Ltd. at the site of a proposed housing development at Ballard Road (Leagard North townland), Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare. The requirement for archaeological monitoring was a condition of planning permission granted by Clare County Council, under Part VIII of the planning application.
The development site comprised a 1.15ha greenfield area with one existing modern dwelling to the north of the site. The site was located to north-east of the town of Miltown Malbay.
All ground works at the development site were subject to a programme of archaeological monitoring. Topsoil varied in depth from 0.1–0.3m. No finds or archaeological deposits were identified during the programme of archaeological monitoring.
