Excavation and monitoring was carried out in March–April 2020, following earlier archaeological testing of the site of a burial ground extension at Illaunamanagh, Tullyvarraga, Shannon. The excavation was conducted under an extension to licence 19E0773. The site, on a small headland on the northern banks of the River Shannon, contained a disturbed pit that could not be dated and a ditch that probably represents a post-medieval or early modern field boundary.
