Archaeological monitoring was recommended as a condition of planning for the construction of a new waste water treatment plant in Lisdaran townland on the northern outskirts of Cavan town. The closest archaeological monument is located 110m to the south of the development site, described as a double banked and ditched ringfort (CV202-058). A full archaeological presence was maintained during the removal of all topsoil across the entire development area and no archaeological features or finds were encountered during the course of this work.
