Monitoring was proposed for part of the Greenhills Water Rehabilitation Scheme within the bounds of WI025-012, the historic core of Wicklow town. Unfortunately, due to an oversight on the part of the main contractor, the majority of the works were undertaken without archaeological supervision. Just a few small sections of pipe trench were observed and these were located on Castle Avenue, where house connections were observed, and St Dominick’s Road where a small trench was monitored. No archaeological material was identified in the monitored sections.
