Monitoring of topsoil stripping/primary ground reduction works was undertaken during 13 – 15 March 2019, having been commissioned by P. Keenan Roads, and relates to the Approval of Planning Permission of 4 September 2018 for a proposed lateral extension to Corvanaghan Quarry, 29 Corvanaghan Road, Cookstown, Co. Tyrone (Planning Ref: LA09/2017/1410/F).

Topsoil removal revealed undisturbed glacial subsoil, which primarily consisted of a light-mid brown orange sandy clay within the area under investigation, at a depth of 0.3–0.45m.

No archaeological features, remains or deposits were uncovered during the monitored topsoil stripping works.
