Archaeological testing was carried out over the course of 2 days between 15 and 20 May 2019. The trenches targeted open green space to fully investigate the archaeological potential of the site.
A buffer zone was established 50m from the most external element of TN042-036--- a Ringfort/rath (c. 70m north). The buffer was marked with a temporary fence. The development site is located approximately 20m to the south of the buffer The development as planned will have no impact on TN042-036.
Test trenching did not identify anything of archaeological significance, and the development was not foreseen to have any significant archaeological impacts based on the testing results.
