Testing took place on 6 December 2019 at the site of a proposed dwelling house development at Cartronabree Co. Sligo. The proposed development is within the zone of archaeological notification for SL020-033--- Ringfort Rath. A total of six test trenches were excavated across the development area and along the site boundary closest to the ringfort. The total area excavated comprised 190.02m of trench. Each test trench was mechanically excavated using a graded bucket 1.5m wide. All trenches were excavated to the top of archaeological material or the boulder clay. Depths of soil cover varied across the site with an average depth of 0.4m. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted within the development area during testing.
