Test trenching was carried out in advance of the construction of a single dwelling and associated works. The assessment was part of a Request for Further Information, Planning Register number PL2/19/392.
Four test trenches were excavated by mechanical digger. There was some redeposited modern building rubble, with concrete and plastic inclusions, so the trenches were taken to a depth of up to 1.15m. The top of undisturbed subsoil occurred at c.1m below the surface; this was established in all four trenches.
No material of an archaeological nature, finds or features, were disclosed by the test trenching.
