In repsonse to Condition 3 of the grant of planning permission (KA190153) archaeological testing was carried out on an area of farmyard expansion and upgarding works adjacent to the site of and within the zone of notification associated with ME018-027, a Castle – motte, described as a flat-topped circular mound (diam. of base 39m; diam. of top 19m; H 4.4-5.2m).

Spreads of re-deposited material were identified and attributed to the levelling of the motte in the 20th century.

Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
