This c. 5.4ha green-field site, located to the south side of Dunshaughlin town and bounded to the south by the R147 Dublin Navan Road, comprises a northern portion set out in two pasture fields with the southern area currently in use as football pitches. Geophysical survey was undertaken by Target Geophysics in August 2019 under licence 19R0178. The area of the football pitches was not surveyed. No responses of definitive archaeological character were recorded from the survey but several were of archaeological potential.
A total of 11 test trenches were excavated within the site. Topsoil varied slightly between 0.38-0.5m. Subsoil was a compact light yellow-brown mixture of clay and silt, with frequent angular stones. No archaeological features or objects were recorded in any of the trenches.
