A program of archaeological testing was carried out at Ballymakenny Road, Drogheda, Co. Louth from 14–16 August 2019. The site is located to in the townland of Yellowbatter, north of Drogheda.
A total of 11 test trenches were excavated across the area, each measuring 1.8m in width. In total, 586m of linear trenches were excavated. In general, the trenches revealed topsoil (0.5–0.85m thick) overlying a natural silty clay, which was orange-yellow in colour. A number of modern/post-medieval furrows, modern field drains and buried services were seen across the development site. No archaeological features, structures or deposits were identified.
