Archaeological testing and subsequent excavation at the site of a proposed extension to Mohill Library, Castle Street, Mohill, Co. Leitrim located the remains of two phases of stone-built structures. The first is probably part of a turret base and bawn wall associated with a Plantation period fortified house and the second is remnants of a later building shown on the 1836 Ordnance Survey map. The second structure is not closely dated and the function is not known. The site lies close to, and probably within the original bawn of, a 17th-century fortified house (LE032-067). The earlier stone structure was preserved in situ.

A range of artefacts that are all likely to be post-medieval or modern in date were recovered. These include pottery sherds, glass from both bottle and window, clay tobacco pipe, animal bone and shell.
