Pre-development archaeological testing was undertaken on a site at Well Street, Ballymacasy townland, Ballylogford, Co. Kerry. The Zone of Notification of a fulacht fiadh, KE003-035, extends slightly into the northern limits of the proposed development site (PDS). A series of four test trenches (T1-T4) extending for total of c.222m were excavated across the limits of the PDS. Topsoil comprised dark brown, good quality, rich material with an average depth of 0.35m. Exposed subsoil was generally dark-grey with some oxidised patches of dark-orange colour in places and clayey sandy silt in texture. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted or recorded in any of the test trenches.
