Three trenches were excavated by track machine under archaeological supervision, in advance of the re-development of the site. No features of archaeological interest were discovered and two small fragments of animal bone were recovered. At the base of the trenches silty clay layers were encountered which were interpreted as relating to the rivers that in medieval times ran adjacent to the site, but which were culverted in modern times. Metal detection of the spoil was undertaken (19R0111). Nothing of an archaeological nature was discovered during this exercise.
