The proposed development site is partially situated within the zone of notification of ringfort KE046-002. A series of three test trenches (T1-T3) with average depth 0.2-0.3m were excavated across the limits of the site in bright, dry conditions. The linear test trenches were opened with a 13-ton back-acting mechanical excavator using a 1.8m wide grading bucket. No archaeological features, deposits or artefacts were recorded during the testing.
