The proposed development comprises the construction of a reservoir at Farranreagh townland, Knightstown, Valentia Island, Co. Kerry. The site is located approximately 1km west of Knightstown in a green field area and comprises a roughly sub-rectangular area adjacent and to the north of a church and graveyard (KE079-072001 and 002).
Topsoil was removed from the site using a 15-tonne track machine with a grading bucket. Topsoil was removed to a depth of 0.3m and exposed a bright orange natural. No finds, features or archaeological deposits were uncovered during monitoring.
