Testing was undertaken with regard to a planning application to construct a six-turbine windfarm near Ballylongford, Co. Kerry. The works took place in early June in 2019 and comprised the excavation of twenty-eight 2m wide test trenches with a total length of c.1500m. A fulacht fiadh, with maximum exposed dimensions of 5m (east-west) x 6m and a depth of 0.3m, (established by an exploratory test box) was recorded in test trench T26 (centre point ITM coordinates: E 498227, N 643491). Nothing of archaeological interest was recorded in any of the other trenches and no artefacts were recovered during testing.
