The author was commissioned to undertake a programme of archaeological monitoring at the site of a proposed development at Cloonmore townland, Co. Galway.
The proposed development comprises the construction of a two storey dwelling and all associated site works in at a greenfield site. The site is in an area of known archaeological interest, with a ringfort and children’s burial ground located nearby. Monitoring of topsoil stripping for the proposed development was carried out on 27 November 2019. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted.
