Archaeological pre-development testing was carried out at the site of a residential development at Killaloonty townland, Weir Road, Tuam, Co. Galway, following a Request for Further Information by Galway County Council. The site extends over 6499.69 sq. m and it is not within the Zone of Notification of any Recorded Monument.
Sixteen trenches were mechanically excavated through the proposed development site on 29 and 30 May, 2019. All trenches were excavated to undisturbed natural. No features of archaeological interest were discovered during the testing programme and there were no finds of archaeological significance discovered during the works.
