The lands in question comprise two large green fields off the Old Dublin Road with the land falling moderately from south to north; entrance is via the Dublin Road. The site covers a maximum area of 4.48ha and comprises good pasture land with a well-preserved stone wall and mixed hedgerow forming the field division between the two fields. It is generally well drained with some localised flooding to the north of the site. Test trenching of this site took place in October 2017 under Excavation licence 17E0561. During the course of the test excavations, no features of archaeological interest were uncovered.
The monitoring of the topsoil stripping took place intermittently from October 2018 – February 2019. The topsoil consisted of a dark reddish brown silty clay. No features of archaeological interest were uncovered.
