Archaeological test trenching was carried out in response to planning conditions imposed upon a grant of planning in relation to a proposed single dwelling development at lands approx. 775m south-east of 21 Cloghtogle Road, Lisbellaw, Co. Fermanagh.
A series of machine-cut test trenches were excavated within the footprint of proposed development works as outlined in the approved archaeological programme of works. Excavation of the trenches revealed topsoil to directly overlie a combination of bedrock, soft brown silty glacial till and grey sandy clay subsoils. No archaeological deposits were identified during the trenching works.
