A programme of archaeological monitoring was carried out for a new development at 20a Dominick Place, Dublin 1 in 2019.
The monitoring programme identified the remains of 18th- and 19th-century foundations from a coach-house and a brick-lined cesspit in the rear of 20 Dominick Street. There was no evidence for cellarage. These structural elements were cut into a layer of 18th-century garden soil.
The archaeology correlates well with historic and cartographic research which indicates the study area was developed from a greenfield site in c. 1760. No pre-18th-century features were identified.
