McMahon Design and Management on behalf of Rockabill Cable System Ltd. commissioned Geomara Ltd. to undertake archaeological monitoring in connection with the installation of the Rockabill Fibre Optic Cable making landfall at Portrane, Co. Dublin.
Archaeological monitoring of the following elements was undertaken between 2 July and 1 August 2019;
•Horizontal Directional Drilling
•Beach Trench Excavations
•Pre-Lay Shore End ROV and Pre-lay Grapnel Run Monitoring
•Pre-Lay shore end Plough
Nothing of any archaeological significance was encountered during any of the project elements.
