In compliance with Planning Ref: ABP-303691-19, the removal of the site’s topsoil/overburden was archaeologically monitored from the 11-20 November 2019, following on from the demolition of the preexisting structures on site. The topsoil varied in depth from 0.25-0.47m in depth and it was a mid-dark brown silty clay. The underlying subsoil was a yellowy brown silty clay and although traces of modern land improvements such as drains were present, nothing of archaeological significance was noted as being present on the development site.
