A total of seven test trenches were excavated on site during testing carried out in accordance with the previous grant of planning permission DCC 2387/16, of which Condition 12 related to the potential for the site to contain archaeological heritage. Nothing of archaeological significance was found to be present in the test trenches and, in accordance with the current grant of planning, planning ref. ABP300492-17, the removal of the overburden and topsoil on site was archaeologically monitored, in compliance with Condition 20 of that grant. The program of monitoring was carried out under the same archaeological licence and again nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered on site.
