Archaeological monitoring of all groundworks was undertaken at the eastern end of Broadstone Lower Plaza. Two late 19th-century features of historic interest, a limestone-built wall and a cobbled surface, were recorded during the monitoring programme. These features were associated with a building that originally fronted onto a Constitution Hill and an external rear yard, associated with buildings formerly fronting onto Farrells lane.
