Archaeological testing was undertaken on 19 February 2019. Test trenching was completed with no archaeological material uncovered in any of the trenches.
A level 2 photographic survey was completed on all upstanding buildings within the confines of the site, with particular attention given to the pair of parallel buildings in the north-west corner.
A well, labelled on the 1919-20 4th edition Ordnance Survey map, was uncovered between the western ends of Test Trenches 13 and 14. The well was capped by a circular concrete plinth and its depth was shown to be approximately 4m. The well appeared to be constructed using similar sized and shaped stone blocks to that of the surrounding outbuildings.
