Conditions were attached due to an adjacent NISMR rath site (DOW 016:021) and also to the presence of a cluster of buildings which are present on the 1st edition OS mapping (c.1830). As per the approved Archaeological Programme of Works the upstanding vernacular building (which was demolished for the development) was subject to a Level 2 Historic Building Survey. The area encompassed by the foundations for the proposed replacement dwelling and garage and the footprint of the proposed septic tank were topsoil stripped under archaeological supervision. The remaining area of the development was not to be subject to invasive works and was not topsoil stripped.

No archaeological artefacts or features were identified within the areas topsoil stripped, nor any evidence for features relating to the adjacent rath.
