Planning Permission has been granted for a proposed development site at lands at and opposite 35 Feney Road, Moira, Co. Down, to provide for the construction of an off-site replacement dwelling with retention of existing dwelling for residential storage (Planning Ref: LA05/2017/0758/0 & LA05/2019/0043/RM).
Pre-development archaeological evaluation works were undertaken on 8th August 2019 by FarrimondMacManus Ltd under archaeological Licence No. AE/19/117 throughout the proposed development area on behalf of Ruairi & Christine Quinn.
Four (4no.) trenches, totaling approximately 265 linear metres of trenching, were excavated over a period of a single day during on-site works, within an area of c.0.414 hectares, measuring approximately 85m (east-west) x 55m.
On-site evaluation works revealed glacial subsoil throughout each of the trenches and no archaeological features, remains or deposits were identified during the evaluation works.
