2019:873 - Letterkenny RWSS, Contract 3 - Letterkenny to Veagh Section, Donegal

Archaeological monitoring was undertaken during groundworks on the Letterkenny Regional Wastewater Supply Scheme - Contract 3 - Veagh to Letterkenny Section in County Donegal. Much of the works on the Veagh to Letterkenny Section took place on the National Road network (N13/N14) and did not require monitoring. The archaeological monitoring was concentrated on the proposed Dunduffsfort Pumping Station site located in the townland of Dunduffsfort near Newtowncunningham and the new Chlorine Boosting facility at Carnamuggagh Reservoir site in the townland of Carnamuggagh Lower near Letterkenny. Monitoring at these two sites took place sporadically between September and December 2019. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered during these works. The new bypass at Lurgybrack Pumping Station site and associated ancillary works were removed from the works programme in January 2020.
