Testing was undertaken on the site of a proposed glamping site at Tullycleave More, Ardara, County Donegal on the 23 May 2019. A total of eight test trenches were excavated on the site. The topsoil generally consisted of dark brown sandy clay between 0.2–0.35m in depth and dark brown peat between 0.6–2.1m in depth. The natural subsoil consisted for the most part of orange and grey clayey sand containing sub-rounded granite stones and boulders, with solid rock outcropping in places. No features, finds or deposits of archaeological consequence were identified in any of the trenches. No artefacts were found during a scan of the topsoil from the trenches.
