Archaeology and Built Heritage on behalf of Cotswold Archaeology (CA) was commissioned by EirGrid plc to investigate the nature and extent of the peats found exposed in the inter-tidal zone at Claycastle beach, Youghal, Co. Cork, Ireland. The peats were investigated using a hand auger and hand-dug test pit logs and the results underwent geoarchaeological assessment. No archaeology was found.
