2019:452 - CLOGHMACOW, Cork

Archaeological testing was carried out prior to the construction of a farm shed and ancillary buildings. The proposed complex is located within the zone of notification of CO083-067, a ringfort. The uppermost layer (C.1) is classed as topsoil and was a light brown dry, loose silty clay with a low density of stone inclusions. The layer directly below this was subsoil (C.2) and was a grey brown loose clay with a high density of stone inclusions.

Nothing of archaeological importance was noted in the area that was stripped or in the soil removed from the site.
