A test trench was excavated across the western end of the site. Three trenches were excavated across the eastern and central part of the site in 2011. Six random rubble walls, a stone drain, a culvert and a well were revealed in the 2019 trench, all were of post-medieval date. Associated post-medieval deposits and finds were identified to a depth of approximately 1.4m OD. Below this the upper strata of medieval deposits were exposed but not investigated. Further works are proposed.
