A monitoring condition was put on this development of a single dwelling due to its close proximity to a church (CO081-046). This should be classified as a mass house, rather than a church. It contains a date stone of 1753 and is known locally as ‘ SeapĂ©al na Gloire.’ However, the National Monuments’ database had its location c.100m further west than it actually was. This has now been rectified and the correct location is shown on the mapping.
The development site was a steep, south-facing field with rock outcrops, overlooking Lough Allua. A maximum depth of a mid-brown topsoil overlay bedrock and areas of mixed grey/orange boulder clay. No archaeology was found.
