As a condition of planning being granted archaeological testing was to be carried out on the proposed dwelling house as it is located within the zone of notification of CL045-027, an enclosure. In total 7 trenches were opened. The top layer C.1 consisted of a light grey-brown dry loose sandy clay with a low density of stone inclusions. The subsoil C.2 was a compact light grey-brown silty clay with a moderate density of stone inclusions.
Nothing of archaeological importance was noted in the area.
