Archaeological monitoring of the construction phase of a windfarm development was carried out at Boolynagleragh, Boolybrien, Knockatunna and Rathcrony, Co. Clare between April 2018 and January 2019. The development involved the construction of 16 wind turbines, substation, construction compound, borrow pits and roads. The road works involved widening of existing roads, upgrading of existing tracks and the construction of sections of floating road in bog. There are no recorded monuments on or in the immediate vicinity of the development site. However a significant Late Bronze Age hoard (1000-500 BC) was found in Boolybrien townland in 1930 (NMI Reg. 1931:220-240). An historic farmhouse comprising a dwelling and associated shed was identified at EIS stage and a vernacular cottage was identified on the north side of the road to Turbine 10 during monitoring of construction works. None of these structures were impacted by construction works. All excavations associated with the windfarm development were monitored. No archaeology was found.
