Two phases of archaeological monitoring of the construction phase of a windfarm development were carried out at Glenmore, Boolynamweel, Boolynaknockaun and Furoor, Co. Clare between August 2017 and August 2019. The development involved the construction of 12 wind turbines, sub-station, anemometry mast, borrow pits, temporary construction compound, new site roads and upgrades to existing tracks and roads. There are no recorded monuments on the development site, the nearest monument being CL039-035 (Megalithic tomb – unclassified) located 670m to the north. Two vernacular architecture structures identified at EIS stage were monitored at construction phase and were not impacted by the works. All excavations associated with the development were monitored. No archaeology was found.
