Monitoring of the development site at Seaview Park, Quilty took place over 5 days in May 2019. The 3.8 acre greenfield site is bounded by a grassed-over lane running along its northern and eastern perimeter, to the west is a low berm that runs along the edge of the access road for Seaview Park, to the south-west are playing pitches for Kilmurry Ibrickane GAA club. Internally the field has a rough track leading eastward and has lines of rushes marking the furrows of 19th-century cultivation ridges. These ridges are clearly visible in aerial images. A well-defined ringfort circa. 44m wide known as Lisclonrow lies 184m to the immediate east. Monitoring took place of topsoil stripping which was carried out using a 22-tonne backhoe excavator with a 1.8m wide toothless bucket. Excavation exposed a brown silty clay plough soil between 0.2-0.3m over a clay subsoil. Below this was a compact orange brown natural clay incised with silty furrows at intervals ranging from between 0.7-0.9m. No material or features of archaeological potential were noted.
