The proposed housing development which extends to some 1.7ha, is located to the west of the Magheralave Road, Lisnagarvey, Lisburn, Co. Antrim.
Archaeological investigations which took place on 28 and 29 October 2019, suggested that the proposed development area was originally a relatively steep-sided valley, at the south end of which a stream flowed to the south. This stream was culverted, probably in the 1960s and diverted to the south-west into the nearby Duncans reservoir. The valley was subsequently infilled with builder’s rubble, to a depth of over 3.5m in places.
The possible AP noted in the northern half of the site is certainly not archaeological in origin, as testing showed that the modern builder's rubble extended to a depth of 2m in the area.
