Excavation was carried out at the site of a residential and commercial development at Bellvue Hill, Delgany, County Wicklow between 9 and 12 October 2018. A cremation burial site comprising five pit burials in a linear east-west alignment measuring 6m by 2m was identified in the north-east corner of the field. An area 10m by 10m was opened up around the features. No trace of any associated features or of any cairn/mound which covered the burials was found. All of the soil from the five cremation burials was sent for osteological analysis, as well as for C14 dating, charcoal and seed analysis if required. Two phases of burial were apparent at Delgany and two C14 dates were obtained which confirmed this assumption. This was a multi-phased burial site spanning the Late Bronze and Iron Age.
