Monitoring was carried out during a topsoil strip in advance of land improvement. The development involves the use of the site as a landfill facility for inert material as a means to improve drainage. The archaeological condition was imposed because of the proximity of the site to burnt mound activity recorded during works in advance of the M11 upgrade from Rathnew to Arklow (2006). Some evidence of previous attempts to improve drainage were noted involving the use of construction waste and other free-draining materials.
No archaeology was recorded during monitoring.
