Conservation works in 2018 at Johnstown Castle, Co. Wexford, included alterations and repairs to the cellarage under the building. Works were monitored for surviving remains of the medieval castle, but nothing was found predating the 19th-century cellars.
Groundworks nearby, for new facilities at the Irish Agricultural Museum, were monitored at the same time, but no settlement remains, or other archaeological material predating the post-medieval farmyard, were found.
