A programme of test trenching was undertaken within a proposed permanent fill area (PFA 9) during the construction phase of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy PPP Scheme. Testing was carried-out in June 2018. The fill area will be used for the permanent disposal of inert materials retained during road construction.
A total of 33 test trenches, measuring 1,458 linear meters or 3,645 square meters, was excavated, amounting 15% of the footprint of the proposed PFA. No features of archaeological potential were found.
