Two discrete phases of testing of four and eight trenches respectively were excavated to assess anomalies identified during a geophysical survey (180111), carried out by J.M. Leigh Surveys Ltd. The isolated responses were scattered throughout the site, did not have a clear archaeological pattern, likely that these responses represented natural variations in the subsoil. All the anomalies were tested, and no archaeological features were encountered. All the responses were confirmed natural/geological in origin.
