A watching brief was undertaken during the Gas to the West project at Grange, County Tyrone. A single burnt mound deposit was identified during monitored topsoil stripping at Plot 55.05 and subsequently fully excavated. The sub-circular spread which consisted of heat-fractured stones within a matrix of charcoal-rich clay measured 6.48m east to west by 4.3m with a maximum thickness of 0.08m. One broken end scraper was recovered from the burnt mound deposit.
