Planning permission had been obtained for the construction of a cattle house incorporating a slatted tank, cattle crush and development of a silage base at Ballynacloona, Carrick-on-Suir. Only the cattle house incorporating a slatted tank was constructed in 2018. The other structures may be constructed at a later stage. The development is within the environs of a dwelling possible (TS078-056), and a ringfort (TS078-042).
The new cattle shed was sited in the southern part of a pasture field, beside an existing shed and to the north of the farm complex. Other than a drain and a dump of modern material, nothing of archaeological note was uncovered.
