Monitoring along a local access road to Marina Villas at Ballina, Co. Tipperary took place in April 2018. The project involved the rehabilitation of existing water mains and the laying of new water main. The works were carried out mechanically using the open cut method and for the most part followed the line of existing services. The average trench dimensions were 400mm wide by 1m deep exposing a thin road base below the tarmac over a reddish natural sandy clay.
No finds or features archaeological potential were noted throughout the course of the excavations.
